Environmental Policy Statement

Scotmat Carpets is committed to implementing controls to ensure that our activities, being the supply of floor-coverings, have as little adverse impact on the environment as is possible. We have established objectives and targets for continual environmental improvement and introduced a programme designed to implement these controls. Where necessary, changes will be made to our activities and processes, focused on achieving improved working practices and technologies to reduce the environmental impact of our organisation and products. We will strive to control activities in such a way as to reduce pollution and with the aim of meeting or exceeding all the requirements of any relevant legislation.

To meet these commitments and achieve these aims we will strive to:

• Integrate environmental considerations, including the principle of reduction re-use and recycling, into the core of our business and, where relevant, consider the environmental effects of our business decisions
• Actively select and participate in industry sector schemes to identify and promote improvements in environmental practice
• Ensure that our staff are aware of the environmental impacts associated with their individual roles and actions by training and raising awareness where necessary
• Keep up to date and compliant with relevant environmental legislation
• Use energy and resources as efficiently as possible, thus minimising waste and preventing pollution as far as is practical
• Implement an Environmental Management System and maintain certification to the International Standard ISO14001
• Communicate this environmental policy to customers and suppliers and encourage them to follow our aims for environmental performance
